Yesim travels frequently to Buenos Aires to hone her skills as a D.J. as well as a dancer. Susana Miller, Omar Vega, Brigitta Winkler, Robin Thomas and Jennifer Bratt, among others, have influenced her greatly. In both style and substance, Yesim feels a close connection to Rebecca Shulman, whom she considers a major influence. As a D.J., Yesim gets her inspiration from the crowd on the dance floor and chooses music accordingly. In Yesim's opinion, the dancers come to dance and need to be pleased; as for the D.J., personal favourites are not a priority, it's the satisfaction of the milonga's patrons that counts. Yesim's main goal is to D.J. the kind of music that will encourage everyone to dance and will leave a memorable impression of an enchanting tango evening.
